Biography

Dr. Lane joined KU's Department of Special Education in 2012. She previously held positions at several institutions, including University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt University and the University of Arizona. In addition to her academic position, she also serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and previously served as Vice President of KU Center for Research, Inc.

Her research interests focus on designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive, integrated, three-tiered (Ci3T) models of prevention to (a) prevent the development of learning and behavior challenges and (b) respond to existing instances, with an emphasis on systematic screening. Dr. Lane is currently President of the Council for Exceptional Children Division for Research (CEC-DR), and has co-authored 11 books and published over 200 refereed journal articles and 40 book chapters.
